Caring for your Mala

Your mala was made with love and we are glad that you wish to treat it with that same love. If you wish to clean your mala, please do so with care. Rudraksha and gemstones can be gently washed in warm water with a bit of soap or coconut oil. Note that rudraksha absorbs the body’s natural oils and can darken with age. If your mala contains sandalwood, it’s best to avoid water; but you can treat your mala with sandalwood oil.

If your tassel gets wet, don’t dismay. Simply comb the wet tassel, allow it to lay flat to dry and it will be good as new.

We recommend keeping your mala clean energetically as well. If you happen to drop your mala, if someone else touches it, or for any reason you feel that the energy of your mala has been interfered with, we recommend cleansing it by leaving it exposed under a full moon or intentionally grounding your mala, connecting it to mother earth.
